when it comes to your reception glam, try unique silhouettes besides the typical lehenga. besides, you already did the lehenga thing at the ceremony or some other wedding week event. opt for something refreshing instead, that’s both fashion forward and comfortable.
Payal is wearing the NAVEDA COUTURE Ayesha Gown, styled with traditional bridal jewels. the gown has been ombre dyed (by hand) from ivory to burnt orange and finally to a rich, deep blue. it is made with hand pleated silk georgette, allowing it to gracefully fly in the air as you dance the night away with your beau. cape-like panels fall from the shoulders giving this look ethereal vibes. the overall look is in expected from a South Asian bride, yet strong, bold and beautiful.
Amy is wearing the Saaz Caftan Gown, also from NAVEDA COUTURE (fun fact: for Amy’s own Sangeet, her mom wore a version of this gown in a deep marsala hue with tarnished gold beadwork. any NAVEDA COUTURE bridal look can be customized, and made for anyone in the wedding….not just the bride). Amy’s look here is a one-shoulder hand-beaded caftan silhouette that compliments any body type. it hides what we want to hide, while accentuating the shoulders and drawing the eyes up to the face with most of the beadwork at the neckline. the scalloped hem of the sleeve with beaded trim adds just enough feminine touch. with the satin-silk belt, this dress can be adjusted for comfort.
in conclusion, the style motto for your reception is simple… have fun with this look and use it as an opportunity to express your personal style!

smoke it out, pull out your brightest lip color, and whip out the eyelashes. for reception looks, its all about full glam; bold lips, bold eyes, bold hair. these stunning gowns by NAVEDA COUTURE add a flare with the South Asian twist, which is exactly what we want to do with our makeup and hair as well.
for amy’s look, we used the Matte ‘N Metal Eye Shadow Palette by Stila Cosmetics. we applied the shade “Flare” in the crease to give some depth and a somewhat smokey effect, and the shade “Feathered” on the lid to give off a matte finish. this color combination is a perfect mix of metallic and matte, which compliments the textures of her blue gown. for her hairstyle, we pinned up a soft elegant updo to show off the beadwork on her gown.
for payal’s look, we couldn’t help but to bring out that pop of orange. the lip color that came to mind instantly was the ALWAYS ON LIQUID LIPSTICK in Out Loud by Smashbox Cosmetics. this burnt orange liquid lipstick compliments her skin tone, and accents the dress perfectly. add a touch of gold eyeshadow to your lips (yes, eyeshadow!) and there you have a metallic burnt orange lip color. we also incorporated some of those tones in her eyeshadow by using the shade “Isabel” from the Master Palette by Mario. for her hair, we kept it simple by doing the beachy wave look using the Ion 1-1/2 Inch Curling Iron.
